The "Generative" subseries features pieces for which there was no human input during recording.

Generative Works 3

This release contains a collection of modular generative pieces that were patched and recorded only once with little documentation. I have pieced together my recollections about them below.

"Hums" is a feedback patch using the envelope followers of the 4ms Spectral Multiband Resonator to modulate the timbral parameters of the DPO, which is patched to the SMR inputs. There is more to it than that, but that's what I remember.

"Entropede" is an experiment in CV feedback, an attempt to make the René sequencer push itself into quasi-repetitious territory. I later shared (a simplification of) the patch on the Make Noise YouTube with the video "Cartesian Feedback with René" (youtu.be/4aBjM08cndA)

"Sprite of Ring" was patched on a Make Noise Shared System, I do not recall the details though.

I have no recollection of recording "Mallets for your Palates" in 2012.

"Tizering" is just some cycling functions patched through a quantizer (Toppobrillo Quantimator) whose output is then "held" occasionally using its gate output. The patch was simple and the result surprisingly endearing. I remember that I was reorganizing my studio room while letting the patch play for well over an hour, then decided I should record a few minutes. This one does have a tiny bit of human input as I turned up the FM at the beginning and then turned it back down again at the end.

"Amber Hornet" was patched during a lunch break on the demo system at Make Noise HQ at the old location in downtown Asheville.

I have no recollection of recording "Skitte" in 2015.
